Learn brush pen lettering after work in a convenient Michigan Avenue location!
NO RED WINE PLEASE, all other beverages are fine.
Modern lettering using brush pens is super trendy right now, and surprisingly easy to learn! It uses a freer style than traditional calligraphy, which means that you can express your personality. It doesn't need to be perfect to be beautiful!!
In this Beginner Level class we will learn how to use a brush pen to make fun, swoopy letters. We will learn a few rules, but also talk about how to break them. And you will be on your way to using lettering to decorate your planner, your Starbucks cups, your kids....
You will go home from this class with your own fabulous brush pen, a practice alphabet, lots of pages of scribbles, and a new favorite hobby!

When I was a little girl, I loved calligraphy, but could never master the perfection needed for formal lettering. Then years later I discovered brush lettering and I was instantly hooked. I find the artful messiness of it so delightful and approachable. My favorite lettering artists are full of personality and wit. Brush lettering has become a favorite hobby of mine, and something that I love to share with others.
Great space and great class! Another review had said the class was too short, but I disagree - I think it was the right amount of time to learn the fundamentals, but ended just at the time people were getting tired of writing. I had tried to do brush lettering on my own, it's definitely best to it when a teacher can bring up nuances and slight corrections that make a big difference.
