Food & Drink
Are you interested in discovering and learning about the notes and flavors of different coffee beans or curious about how to use all those different brew methods - Chemex, Siphon, French Press - in those cool coffee shops? If so, this class is for you.
This class will highlight three different beans from Papua New Guinea, Africa and South America and feature two brew methods Chemex and French Press. Our coffee expert, John, will demonstrate and walk you through both the beans and how to prepare them at home. The class will really be a casual conversation with the chance for you to enrich your coffee experience and knowledge. Throughout the course, students will be called on to help with demonstrations and tastings to help make this a fun and interactive experience.
Attending our first coffee and brew conversation, you will walk away with a greater understanding of what makes a great coffee (elevation, bean varietal, grow method), a better understanding of your coffee palette and the types of coffee you enjoy as well as the skills and confidence to brew at home with the pour over and french press brew methods. In addition, all students will receive a free half pound of one of our featured coffee beans.

What I once considered a more mundane part of my morning routine, I now see can be much more enjoyable with the right technique and bean. At first I was intimidated by all the equipment that our teacher John introduced but learned quickly that it's very simple to make a good cup of coffee. I liked how I was able to taste all the different notes and flavors, almost like a wine tasting.
