In this HANDS ON class, you will learn how to recreate truly authentic & famous, the ever-elusive Sunday dinner staple from start to finish! This class will change how you entertain at home!
Areas covered will include:
• Mouth-Watering Main Dish: make a perfectly crispy, yet juicy fried chicken
• Savory Side: make tender, fluffy buttermilk biscuits
You will leave this class with the knowledge and necessary skills to easily recreate your own Southern inspired meal, as well as new flavor inspiration from the other students!
Students are provided with the recipes and instructions for how to recreate each of the dishes in the comfort of their own homes. For each dish, students will have the opportunity to follow recipes exactly as they are taught/outlined, but are highly encouraged to experiment with their own flavor/spice preferences and combinations to truly "make it their own" southern inspired meal.
Apron if you have one, your favorite condiment for topping your chicken and containers/ziploc bags for taking home leftovers if any! BYOB to share!

Students are provided with the recipes and instructions for how to recreate each of the dishes in the comfort of their own homes. I will also provide all ingredients including the chicken.

Donna Binbek is the Chef/Owner of Simply Food Chicago Personal Chef Service. From a young age Donna had a passion for everything food. Always one to try something out of the ordinary, Donna could always be seen assisting her father in the kitchen of his taco stand & candy store businesses and helping her mother plan parties for family and friends. Many years later, after working in the corporate world, and starting her own family; so eventually, she turned her passion into a career path and attended culinary school at Kendall College School of Culinary Arts. Donna started her Hospitality career as a Garde Manger then quickly moving up to line cook at the famous Gordon's Restaurant in downtown Chicago. Following her stint at Gordon's, Donna realized she wanted to go in business for herself and cook the cuisine she wanted and loved to make, so she started her own catering and personal chef service. Now, she happily prepares the foods she loves for clients, family and friends, and also gives cooking instruction and assists in wine consultations. Though her first love will always be cooking and hospitality, Donna enjoys being behind the scene, photographing food, wine and social events when working with her lifestyle photography company, Donna Binbek Photography.
Chef Donna B. says "My goal is to use the freshest products available, and to focus on the flavors of ingredients." Donna prepares a wide range of cuisines that include anything from Asian to home style Southern, elegant French to rustic Italian. She says that her greatest strength is to make food, keep it fresh, fun and never boring and she also states that cooking food, teaching classes and sharing meals are expressions of love, and want to share that love with everyone she meets!
What a great class! Donna and her two assistants did a spectacular job on teaching everything we needed to know on mastering fried chicken and biscuits. This hands on class was so well organized and gave us lots of time for hands on cooking and sampling! Looking forward to another "Donna" class.
