Event Overview
Nothing can brighten a midwinter Sunday like shaking a tailfeather to Tina Turner. In this workshop, we will learn to dance to "Proud Mary" in the style of Ms. Turner and other performers of the era. The choreographer and instructor is Kaara Kallen, co-founder of '60s-style go-go troupe the Revelettes.
The dance is authentic to the era and simple enough to learn within the workshop hours. By the time you leave, you will have mastered the dance, which you are welcome to bust out at karaoke bars, parties, and crowded el cars; you will have gained insight into your own dance-move repertoire and style; and you will have had an amazing time. Go-go/ R&B dancing of this era is ridiculously fun--and a good workout, too!
What to Bring
While Tina rocked the fringe and heels, let's save that for the road--please wear comfortable clothes and low-tread sneakers or other shoes you can move in.
Minimum age
All ages welcome

It was a really fun class! The teacher knew a lot about the dance genre. It was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. I will definitely take more go-go workshops with this teacher.
