Latin Dance 101

A Small crash course for beginner's which will cover the basics in bachata( rhythm from Dominican Republic), merengue (Rhythm from Dominican Republic), cumbia(Rhythm from Colombia), salsa( Rhythm from Cuba) and Samba(Rhythm from Brazil)!!!

The class is designed for students to learn the basic dance steps and turns. This way you will be confident to dance whenever your hear the music and look good! Class is for all levels beginners, intermediate and advanced. All classes are B.Y.O.B!!!

What to Bring

Just a bottle of water and be ready to have a great time as well as a flash drive for copies of the music!

Minimum age

All ages welcome

What's Provided

Students will get music they can bring their flash drive or request a cd.

I have been a dancer since I was a child. My mother ignited my passion for dance ever since she first taught me the lambada and her favorite, cumbia, when I was 5. That small dance lesson in our very small living room almost 22 years ago, began my love affair for learning every single dance style from all over the world.

I have been fortunate to have had amazing teachers who taught me everything from Salsa to Zouk. Currently I am part of an amazing Brazilian dance company in Chicago. In which perform Samba, Axe, Forro, and many other Brazilian rhythms, along side the most talented women in the dance industry. I hope to continue learning new rhythms and being able to share them with everyone, while I am still blessed to be in this earth.

I'm not a dancer at all. Glad that Alex breaks down step by step for every dance. He won't move on until everyone feels comfortable with the step.
