Event Overview
A junk drawer is a space for random things, things that don’t really have a place. They defy standard forms of categorization and organization – yet by designating a space as a junk drawer, it’s assigned a category of randomness. Maybe your junk drawer started as a miscellaneous series in your collection of kitchenware, or maybe it formed on its own, simply by having accumulated odds and ends over time.
Eric Bartholomew (Junk Drawer zine) will explore these ideas in this writing workshop. Bring in an item from your junk drawer. Everyone will tell the story behind their item in a short writing exercise. There will be a discussion sharing these stories associated with their items. All writing will be compiled into a small zine (to be discussed in class).
All writing materials will be provided. Remember to bring in an item from your junk drawer.
