Get wild with fire...springtime style! If you've ever been curious about furnace glass ("how does Chihuly make those amazing chandeliers?") or wanted to play with fire this is the class for you.

Work with hot liquid glass from a furnace to create your own one-of-a-kind solid glass egg. First you'll learn how to safely navigate in a hot glass studio. Then you'll see some demonstrations of glass working processes and learn basic hand tool use. Finally, you'll pick from a lovely array of glass colors and hop right into making your own egg.

Pieces made in class must be cooled overnight so your work will be available for pick up approximately a day after class (or shipping arrangements can be made).

    Hot Glass for Springtime!

Kit is an amazing teacher. I had absolutely no experience with hot glass going into the class. I am even slightly afraid of fire. But Kit was kind, patient and extremely attentive. She was also great at accommodating everyone's creative ideas and helping to make them a reality. I can't wait for my finished glass Easter egg to be delivered! Definitely interested in learning more about hot glass. Highly recommend this class.

    Hot Glass for Springtime!

I've always been interested in working with glass (I took a class in neon design 20 years ago) and this seemed like a great chance to see how other glass work is done. Kit's a fantastic teacher who makes your safety around 2000° molten glass very instinctive. She puts you into place, tells you what to expect, and sets you up to create your masterpiece. I made a couple of small mistakes and she was great at recovering my work and bringing my piece back to where it needed to be. And showing your glasswork to your friends gets you serious respect! Highly recommended.

What a great Dabble experience! I've always wanted to try working with glass, and this class was perfect. Kit is a great teacher, and guided us every step of the way. Great experience, and I can't wait to go pick up my egg! Thanks Kit.

Loved it! This class turns out to be great for couples so that you can take each others' pictures looking like a hardcore Glass Artiste! Kit is a great instructor and very patient. The eggs are a good project. I saw some of the hearts and they don't look as nice as the eggs.

1.) Small class size. 2.) Allowed each individual to mold simple glass eggs themselves, while also 3) displaying an example of advanced glass blowing at the end by the instructor.

    Hot Glass for Springtime!

"Chicago Hot Glass is a place that most people would never know existed and many people living on the north side or near downtown would never have an opportunity to go out to this neighborhood. I love that through Dabble, I got both!

The curriculum was well put together (2 hours for make-your-own egg and 1 hour for a demo of something much more complex) and the teacher was great. She was very passionate about teaching the subject. Just getting to be in the glass studio and trying your hand at something that takes years to master was a great experience."

This class was absolutely awesome! Easily one of my favorite classes that I've taken through Dabble. The teacher, Kit Paulson, was the best! She was extremely patient with the class, highly efficient and extremely knowledgeable. She was so good at instruction that the class was able to make multiple projects instead of just the one listed in the class agenda. I will definitely take another class from this instructor in the future!!!

The instructor, Kit was fantastic. The class size was perfect to allow people to complete 2 eggs and ask questions. The price on Dabble was good!
