Learn how Qi Gong can harmonize your qi (energy) with the seasons!

Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese self healing practice that uses moving meditations to cultivate qi. Each season has its own qi and correlates to different emotions, and organs within the body. As these cyclical energies greatly influence the functions of each organ, our inner balance and relationship to the surrounding environment are also affected. Become a force with nature, and no longer feel out of sync!

Springtime is about the liver.

Just as daffodils break ground and move upward and outward, so does our liver qi move in the body. If our liver qi is unbalanced, this movement will cause irritation, anger and bad moods. Also common are headaches at the top of the head, elevated blood pressure and tendon problems.

In this 4 week series we will learn the basics of Qi Gong, the role of the liver, cleanse and strengthen the liver, and promote blood circulation to encourage free and smooth flowing qi.

Series dates: May 17, 24, 31, and June 7

She has had the privilege of working with the older adult population at Rush Medical Center's membership program Rush Generations, and at Mathers-More Than a Cafe, to incorporate recreational and wellness programs for the senior community. Venus works with students of all levels, and currently teaches at Garrett Hypnosis & Wellness Center in Avondale, and Sat Nam Yoga Chicago in the West Loop.
