About the artist:
Liz Gomez is a multidisciplinary afro-latinx currently based in Chicago, IL. Gomez is a creative chameleon, whose practice includes large-scale portraiture, murals, mixed media installations, and performance, all of which are centered around using the arts as a vessel for healing and authentic story-telling. She believes in giving voice and visibility, to individuals who defy definition and uses her work to celebrate freedom, fearlessness and the endless depths of the spirit. Originally from San Antonio Tx, Gomez traveled to Chicago to pursue a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and now holds an artist residency in Bronzeville, with the Hunter International Gallery.
