Event Overview
Do you love taking photos of your friends and family at every event gathering? Do you have a fancy DSLR camera that you invested in but still find yourself using the auto mode and unhappy with the results? Do you want to understand how to control light to get the desired effects in camera? Well, then this class is for you. Learn the basics of digital photography with professional photographer, Clare Britt.
Join me and a small group of photographers, as we explore a city park and go over the basic camera techniques: Shutter Speed, Aperture, ISO and White Balance in an easy to digest, understandable way. We can discuss any and all questions about your camera and photography.
The classes are held outdoors and start in front of the Chicago History Museum, where we start by voting on one of three routes proposed.
This is a perfect class for the hobbyist who would like a better understanding of how to control their equipment and translate their ideas into beautiful photographs to share with the world. The first hour will be geared towards understanding the basic functionality of your camera, how to use light to your advantage and how to frame a scene. We will go on a walkabout to practice what we've learned and answer any questions because the best way to learn photography is by doing it!
You will walk away with a renewed sense of confidence in your ability to capture the scene as you envision it in your mind's eye and ready to move on to more advanced techniques.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST
I have been learning about and creating photographic images for over 20 years. I started taking photos when I was 13 years old at summer sleep away camp. It was there that I fell in love with light and the tactile experience of creating photographs in the dark room. Over the past 20 years photography has changed so much and I have mastered the DSLR camera and want to pass my knowledge on to you! I run my own Photography studio and photograph portraits and events throughout the world.
