Intro to Climbing takes the intimidation out of the walls with our CWI-certified instructor-led sessions to teach the basics of bouldering. In a small group setting, you'll receive the attention you need to start from ground zero and reach the top, introducing you to technique and problem-solving. There is designed in some time to rest between climbing to allow for questions, recovery, and learning. Please note, this is a special price not available to non-members and has been offered exclusively to the Dabble community.
All facility access + gear rental included, but you might want to bring your own socks for the rental climbing shoes and lock for the free lockers if desired.
Please complete our waiver and account setup before class! Due to the liability risks associated with climbing this is required.

Brooklyn Boulders (BKB) designs, builds and operates multi-faceted rock climbing facilities anchored by the premise that movement stimulates innovation and creativity. With 25,000 square feet of climbing surface managed by a dedicated and skilled route-setting staff, BKB is the ideal training ground for beginners and advanced climbers. We offer climbing classes, group fitness exercise, weight and cardio equipment, co-working spaces, WiFi, youth programming, personal training, team building, and event experiences while providing an unconventional platform to bring the arts, music, and entrepreneurial communities together.
Fantastic experience, largely thanks to my very encouraging instructor, Jason. I'd never done anything like this before and I'm my fitness level is weak, but Jason showed me how I could still do this and see improvement. The space itself is also really cool and includes regular gym equipment and yoga classes and even an area to do work on your laptop! It very much felt like a tight-knit but open community. This class is also a great deal through Dabble because it's cheaper than what's listed on Brooklyn Boulders' website, and you also get another free day pass to come back! I will definitely be back!

Last time I rock climbed was when I was in elementary school. This class was a great one as a newbie. First part of the class was focusing on techniques. Second half was climbing a wall or two. Class participants were all encouraging towards one another which is nice. Came on my own which was cool because you really just focus on yourself. Did I look clumsy? Of course, but I had a good time!

Loved this class - great instructor who made everyone feel comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, easy way to try a new challenge! Looking forward to more.

I was looking for something fun to do and the Brooklyn Boulders Intro to Climbing seemed to fit. I have never climbed before so I was a little nervous, but the instructor (Rob) was great! We got a little technique, safety best practices, and even climbing history in the one hour lesson. Some challenging moments, but Emma and the group were super supportive and encouraging. Eventually did all the climbs and it was nice that we were able to stay afterwards to climb on our own.

I have been wanting to try out climbing for a while and it seems so daunting to just get it started on my own. So I decided to take a class to learn the basics and not throw myself out there. And I am really glad that I did!
The instructor was very encouraging even for people who were afraid of heights. He didn't push you to do things that you were not comfortable with. Also very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who is thinking about trying out but is scared to go with your experienced friends.

My girlfriends and I tried rock climbing with the intro to rock climbing class at Brooklyn Boulders. Our teacher was extremely upbeat and positive and had a lot of knowledge to share.

I went to this event with three friends. We were joined by three more climbers for a total of seven. Maddie, our teacher (Sorry if I misspelled the name!), was wonderfully sweet and funny, but still had a firm enough control of the group to make sure people knew the safe falling and descent rules on the basic bouldering setup before we moved on. We were offered the chance to try four or five routes on the bouldering sections, including the scary cave underhang, and then a chance at the big wall. The value for the cost is extremely high and we all had a great time; I plan on bringing several other friends in the next month or two and may well sign up with the gym myself once my current gym membership runs out.

This class had a great teacher to student ratio and the feedback was very helpful and supportive. They were able to customize the challenges to the participants' skills levels, which I appreciated. It was a fun way to get a workout!

This was my first time at a climbing gym and Brooklyn Boulders was very impressive! The environment was positive and welcoming, the patrons and teachers were friendly and communicative, and the facility itself was clean and colorful. We started by learning the basics in bouldering and auto-belay climbing, and then had the rest of the night to keep exploring the rest of the walls (although, you may be sore after the first hour-- and for the next 2 days...!) Climbing was great work out :)

This class was really great. I had not climbed in ten years and now I want to start climbing again. It was definitely worth the time and money invested to try out this class and see this space.

The teacher claire was amazing. She explained everything very clearly and understood that I was afraid of heights and didn't push to far. I will look into more classes.

I had a great time at Brooklyn Boulders. This is an excellent deal - the price includes rental of climbing gear plus opportunity to spend the rest of the day practicing bouldering/climbing. The teacher explained bouldering really well. Overall, excellent experience and planning to come back to the gym to practice bouldering even more.

Class was great! No nonsense, got to the basics quickly so you can climb. Very fun in a group setting.

I really enjoyed this. It was much harder than I anticipated but the instructor and other climbers were very nice and helpful. I would love to continue climbing since it was a great challenge mentally and physically but fun as well!!

I think this was a lot of fun! They teach you the basics of bouldering and climbing. What they do not really make clear on this description is that after the class is over, you have a day pass to do as you please around the facility. That was a pleasant surprise! Ignore one of the earlier comments that said it was a lot of standing around. You do take turns, but you have lots of time after to do what you want. I'd totally recommend this to someone who wants to try out bouldering.

It was actually a blind date. It turns out only the two of us had signed up for the class and for both of us it was our first time. We're both in good shape and fairly athletic but had never climbed before. It was all right but personally I would have liked a bit more instruction from our teacher.
I wouldn't recommend this activity if you're not in good to great physical condition already. Core body and leg strength is more important that arm strength, believe it or not, but shoulder strength is also key. You get more winded than you expect. Forty-five minutes is enough for a first time.
Also, not a bad activity for a first date.

The Brooklyn Boulders facility is very cool, and everyone working there was super nice. It was very crowded, which was a little tough when having a class, because we kept having to wait for others to use the wall before us. Intro to Climbing class was awesome! Everything was explained very well and at a pace that could be easily understood. Would highly recommend BKB to others interested in climbing, or just trying something new!

I was nervous to try climbing but the teacher was encouraging and helpful. She helped me get to the top of the wall when I didn't think I could. I had a good time and the gym is awesome!
