Have you ever wanted to learn how to read tarot? Do you have a deck that has been staring at you from a shelf and you have been ignoring those stares for too long? Maybe you want a refresher course on the basics of tarot? Here is your opportunity to do so in a safe and welcoming environment! No prior knowledge required. Come alone or with friends!

The first hour of the workshop will focus on learning the basic meanings of tarot. The second half will be dedicated to learning a few card spreads and then practicing them with each other!

Light snacks and wine will be provided.

Please note that you must bring your own tarot deck. If you do not have one, Jen will have a few extra decks to borrow during the workshop.

For years, Jen Swallow worked on a small cruise ship based out of Rhode Island. Finally becoming fed up with perpetual seasickness, Jen decided to set anchor in Chicago, a city she had only briefly visited when docked overnight. In an effort to experience the most of what these midwestern land-walkers had to offer, she stumbled upon a tarot workshop.

Jen fell in love with the healing powers that tarot provided. Others took notice of her intuitive connection with tarot, leading to opportunities for her to start reading professionally. It soon became apparent that her desire to share her experience and point of view would best be served by teaching others and helping them follow their own paths.

She currently teaches tarot workshops and reads at various events throughout Chicago.

This was a GREAT introduction to the Tarot. Not only was Jen warm and welcoming (with wine and treats!), but she has figured out a great way to break down the Tarot in a short amount of time. I feel like I have a much better understanding and a point from which to start delving a little deeper. My curiosity is properly piqued! This would be a great class to attend with friends, but the group is small enough that I felt comfortable attending by myself.

I thought this class was wonderful. I've had a tarot deck for years but never had confidence in my knowledge of the cards to do readings. Jen focused on trusting your intuition, something I struggle with. I'm looking forward to taking this new-found confidence-- with the tarot and with myself-- out into the world.

Great experience. It was a very welcoming and warm group especially so by the tone the instructor has set. I feel like I learned the basics especially because I came with absolutely no idea about any of it. I feel like I have a strong base to build on.

I missed the first two Introduction to Tarot classes and was determined to get to this one. I'm so glad I was able to make it. The class size was great and Jen was an excellent instructor. She laid out a lot of information in such a way as to demystify the mystical. After taking this Introduction class, I felt that the Tarot was something I could pursue.

Jen is great! I learned so much and this class really helped to demystify tarot. I feel much more comfortable approaching my deck and am excited to learn more about the cards. The environment of the class was great as well!

Jen's Intro to Tarot was an amazing class! I'm blown away at how Jen broke down the fundamentals and prepared us to begin reading straight away. I would take more classes with Jen without hesitation.
