I opened an art studio in Logan Square with my oldest son a couple of months ago. We have been hosting art classes since May 2019*. Although I am trained and educated as an artist (who has also worked as a freelance artist), I have also taught art for over 20 years. I enjoy teaching art as much as I enjoy creating it, and at ArtSpace we like to create profound art experiences for our guests, giving them the opportunity to bring out their creativity in new and exciting ways.
*We are not a chain paint and sip, we are a real art studio.
I attended this class with my Mother and two cousins. We had a blast and loved the Chicago signs we designed and made! Teachers were very attentive to each individual and allowed and assisted with exploration beyond the original design. You could tell that they love what they do. We were disappointed that we were not able to make the bottle opener that was pictured in the advertisement for the class. The description of the class was Wood Crafting Chicago Style with a picture of the bottle opener, so we assumed that was the project, but it was actually the Chicago sign. If time allowed, we could have made the bottle opener, but we did not have time left over to complete the bottle opener. Overall, great class with an even better price and I would return!
