Make Tortellini Like an Italian Grandmother
6 Have Dabbled
Food & Drink
Learn to make your favorite, Italian pasta at home -- with just your hands and rolling pin. In this hands-on cooking class, you will learn how to make a basic “sfoglia” egg pasta dough from scratch and roll out tortellini with two different fillings. We’ll whip up three homemade sauces (tomato butter, Bolognese cream, and orange-mint-brown sugar) and share a pasta-filled meal together. Making tortellini is both an impressive meal and a comfort food that is easy to master at home, and is the foundation for any homemade pasta dish.
Join Zach as he shares authentic recipes, life wisdom in food, and some of the secrets of the Italian kitchen.

Zach Martinucci is an aspiring celebrity chef and Italian grandmother. As a culinary anthropologist, he spent months in Italy cooking, eating, learning, and talking about food. He brings culture and cuisine together to craft story-worthy experiences over food.
Zach believes that food can (and should) tell the story of who we are. He is currently the Head Baker at Rebel Bread, where he is dedicated to challenging our relationship with food—one community, conversation, and loaf of bread at a time.
For the past year or so I have been trying to broaden my abilities in the kitchen and honestly, thanks to Zach's courses from tortellini and gnocchi has helped me significantly with my confidence in the kitchen. The class is very interactive, as you would imagine for cooking, and incredibly tasty! Zach is able to provide variations of fillings and sauces depending on any allergies and also able to discuss alternatives with anything else that is made in the class. I would highly suggest this class to anyone who is starting or would like to start working with dough in every sense of the word.
