DIY Luxury Scarf

Don't you just love shopping Etsy or those high end department stores for beautiful scarves? I love them, but certainly can't buy all I want. What if you could make your own? In this class I will teach you shibori, a traditional Japanese dyeing technique and devoré, a chemical burn-out technique from France. You will combine these processes to make your own high-end satin or velvet - rayon and silk scarf. This class is suitable for anyone 12 or older; making it perfect for summer break activities for your students or an adult night out for yourself. Each student will leave with one completed scarf that measures 15" x 60".
Since there is a choice of scarves, I am having you bring a small material fee to class. This price is equal to the price I pay my supplier for the scarf you choose.
$10 for Satin scarf - Rayon with silk back
$12 for Velvet scarf - Rayon pile with silk back
As an added bonus, classes are held in an amazing craft coffee shop :o)
$10 for the satin scarf / $12 for the velvet Scarf. Be sure to wear clothing you don't mind getting stained (just in case)
All ages welcome
All dyes, chemicals, equipment and gloves.

Sandra graduated from Colorado State University with a Masters degree in fine art with an emphasis in fibers. She currently enjoys teaching in the art department at the Community College of Aurora. She loves working in her studio combining various techniques just as much as she loves teaching. There are few things better than completing a work of art, or watching a student embrace a new concept or technique
