Event Overview

Weaving can be done without a loom, on a basic loom, or on a floor loom. The benefits of a floor loom are that you can create exciting and complex patterns quickly and without difficulty.

In this private/semi-private class I will teach you to prepare your warp, dress the loom, weave several patterns, and stitch a beautiful edge to complete your projects. This two-part class will give you six hours of dedicated instruction, two weeks of loom use during normal business hours and by appointment, and assistance as needed during open weave times.

I recommend that students interesting in this class create a sampler piece; however, if you have something else in mind, we can work with that, too. I will provide materials for the initial sampler. We will then discuss (during the first class) what your project goals are and what kind of materials you may need. For those that only want to learn techniques and play with the samplers, you will not need to bring any additional materials.

Class dates:
- Option 1: Sept 8th & 15th
- Option 2: Sept 23rd & 30th
- Option 3: Oct 22nd & 29th

I love hanging with my family, my dogs, and making art. When the weather is warm and sunny, I just want to sit outside and spin yarn for my projects. I have even been know to take a table loom to a bar. Craft breweries and coffee shops are the best, because I don't get quite as many funny looks when I bring my projects. I am excited to share anything I do with anyone who wants to learn!

Sandra was an amazing teacher! She taught me many different techniques and stitches on the floor loom. She was very personable and friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I look forward to taking more of her classes!
