Many think of tapestries as the pictorial textiles on the walls of medieval castles, but the history of tapestry goes back to the ancient Egyptian and Incan cultures. Modern tapestries are pictorial or geometric, show realism or fantasy. The sky is the limit. In this class you will learn to warp a frame loom (provided) and use multiple colors to create stripes, checkers and boxes in your weaving. This is a hands-on class and is suitable for anyone age 12 or older. It is perfect for your student who is on summer vacation, or for an adult night out. It also makes a great parent/child activity.
There is a $10 kit fee payable at class. This will cover the price of your loom and all necessary equipment and materials. You will keep it all ;O)
You will be given all of the supplies needed for the project as well as the loom to keep for other projects or Tapestry Basics II.
*Note: Evening Classes at Jubilee Roasting are after store hours. Unfortunately, coffee will not be available for purchase during those class times.
$10 kit fee and a load of enthusiasm!
All ages welcome
The Kit fee is only to cover my costs and will provide you everything you need to take this class and make more tapestries in the future.

Sandra graduated from Colorado State University with a Masters degree in fine art with an emphasis in fibers. She currently enjoys teaching in the art department at the Community College of Aurora. She loves working in her studio combining various techniques just as much as she loves teaching. There are few things better than completing a work of art, or watching a student embrace a new concept or technique
I loved this class! Sandra is so generous and knowledgeable. I love that you get to take a small loom home with you and she shows you how to set it up.

Sandra was friendly, and the Jubilee coffee house was an incredible location (both the coffee shop and the artist studios in the back!). I learned some good information and look forward to weaving more.

This was the most fun class that I have taken privately. I enjoyed the setting(in the coffee shop) the atmosphere was excellent! I will love to take more classes in the future with Sandra Clark. She was most helpful and patient with me and my errors along the way!

This class was great! Sandra did a wonderful job giving an intro to tapestry weaving. The pattern we worked on involved a variety of techniques. Sandra spend time with each student when we were stuck on something, and I really liked that everyone in the class could work at their own pace. I look forward to taking more of her classes in the future!

Fun low key class. Good attendance, nice people and great venue. It took most awhile to catch on to the techniques, me included but it was fun and a high quality experience.
