Event Overview

Something is happening in our homeland. Farmers are beginning to really see the value of small production products, like cheese and wine. How does that make a difference? What are some of those decisions they are making to ensure the best quality and character from their cheese and grapes? Learn about native yeasts, organic agriculture and what general terms like 'washed rind', 'unpasteurized', 'unfiltered' and 'whole cluster' mean when you see it on the label. Discover some of this country's top growers!

Ashley Vaughters, head sommelier/instructor for Mistral Wine Co., has put together an incredible class for you, along with Devin Lamma of Whole Foods Cherry Creek! While learning the basic principles of putting wine with the proper cheese, also gain insight into some of this country's best selections in both categories of pure bliss. Their enthusiasm for their craft is apparent, and their goal is to make wine & cheese terminology/tasting more accessible to you so you might find enrichment in your own daily moments of enjoyment.
