Event Overview

It's decorative gourd season! Although you can do so much more than piled those butternut, acorn, delicata, turban, pumpkins, and other beautiful autumn squash into a cornucopia on your dining room table - they're as tasty as they are attractive. In this class you'll learn how to manage those tough squash skins while we make:

Fermented Squash and Sage Pickles
Squash Butter
Pumpkin Spice Syrup
Frozen Squash Curry
Squash Pie (fresh and frozen)
Squash and Apple Soup (fresh and frozen)

We'll sample recipes made with these squash goodies, too.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

I've been teaching people to preserve foods for years. Food waste makes me almost as cranky as eating the same boring things over and over. I'm always looking for new ways to expand the bounty for my farming and gardening friends. Grow it, preserve it, and eat locally year-round!
