    The class was well worth the price. Heather did an excellent job and was very informative. I came away from the class with the answer to the questions I had. Looking forward to the follow up classes Heather spoke of. Frank

    This was a great summary of IP law basics, presented clearly with good examples to facilitate understanding for a layperson.

      Great class, great instructor!! Very informative. It made a subject I was interested in, but intimidated by, approachable. I started my first batch of kombucha the same week.

      Overall I did enjoy myself. The instructors were pretty clear this was the largest class they had taught (usually taught smaller groups) and that they were still learning how to deal with such a large class. I enjoyed myself and I did like learning to use new tools, seeing the Green Exchange gardens, chickens and didn't mind some of the disruptions. Overall I had a good time!

The only hangup was the popularity of the class! There were so many people, the class went an hour longer than planned. But it was so very informative. The only major difficulty was bringing home my packing palette/planter home on the bus. Still awesome.","teacher_response":null}

What the class mainly consisted of was standing outside in the wind sawing wood and standing around without any protective eyewear. One girl even got a particle in her eye and had to spend the remainder of the class inside without finishing her pallet. The gardening part wasn't much better. The instructor had us create small pots out of newspaper. Newspaper decomposes. This would only work if the plants were going to be transplanted to the ground, therefore defeating the purpose of an indoor herb garden. Out of the selection of seeds available, only two were herbs. Overall, I got half of a wood pallet and two newspaper pots full of dirt and seeds that are going to decompose in my kitchen. I wouldn't recommend this class to a friend unless it was capped at 10 people and the process was more organized and safe for all of the participants. ","teacher_response":null}

Most of the class was actually assembling the pallet instead of preparing an indoor herb garden. The assembly of our pallet gardens included using power tools with little to no instructions and no safety eyewear provided while we cut through wood with power saws outside on a windy day. My friend had a piece of wood fly into her eye and cut it. The class was supposed to go for an hour and a half, but because of how unorganized it was, and how the instructor dropped and broke one of the saws, we were there much much longer and had to leave before we finished because we had a time conflict (over an hour after the class was scheduled to end). The gardening segment of the class was us rolling up newspaper pots and then planting a couple seeds in them (not much variety of seeds, mostly lettuce), almost none of them being herbs. They would not work in our pallet garden and needed to be transplanted to an outdoor garden, so I am still confused as to what part of the class was teaching us about indoor herb gardening. The class probably would have been fine with half the people and with more safety instructions, but it was just a lot of sitting around waiting. I was really disappointed because I was hoping to learn a lot more than I did and I'm stuck with a pretty bad looking pallet garden that I'll have to finish on my own because of how late the class ran. ","teacher_response":"Thank you all for the feedback regarding the Indoor Herb Gardening class. All of your feedback is important and we are going to email the entire class to touch base on your comments. Thank you all again for the open and honest feedback."}

The instructors were not prepared for the size of the class, and didn't have a reasonable amount of tools so that things could be done in a timely manner. Additionally, power saws were utilized outside in the wind, and we were given no safety goggles. I am not normally a huge safety stickler, but my eye was cut pretty badly during this class, so I was unhappy. Lastly, it was frustrating that the class seemed as if it would be about learning how to do indoor herb gardening -- and it ended up being primarily about building the pallet to hold them.","teacher_response":null}

It was really fun and interesting, we got lots of good tips on growing herbs and veggies, and we made really awesome planters. I thought going into it we would be getting more concrete tips on success with growing herbs indoors, instead it was some more general growing tips and we learned about starting seeds in newspaper planters, so while it wasn't exactly what I expected I still felt like it was very worthwhile and we went home with a planter and some seedlings in newspaper planters. The instructors are great! They were all really nice and had a lot of knowledge to share, they also made the class entertaining.They are running a very cool organization in a very cool space, and that added to the experience getting to see that and learn about what they do. The class could have been a little better organized, we ran an hour over scheduled time, but it was also their first time doing the class with such a large group so I'm sure by next time they'll have worked out the kinks. I would definitely recommend the class to anyone interested in urban gardening. Tip: you do get hands on so wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.","teacher_response":null}
