Alcohol just tastes better when consumed with friends you love and extended family that you can't stand. Spread the love this holiday season by making three DIY cocktail-ready gifts for the cocktail-loving sophisticates, boozehound party girls and Barney Gumble barflys in your life.
Health and Wellness Chef Alia Dalal will lead you through three hands-on recipes that will elevate your homemade drinks and demand use in your giftee's home.
Sip on Gin and Tonics made with Chicago Distilling Company Gin and our Homemade Tonic Water, while you assemble your own:
--Tonic Syrup for Gin and Tonics
--Cinnamon Spice Cocktail Bitters for Manhattans, Old Fashioneds and more
--Your Own Signature Bloody Mary Spice Mix for Bloody Marys. Duh.
Package up one of each gift and make homemade labels. All you'll need to add is a bottle of spirits for the cutest, drunkiest hostess gift ever.
You'll leave with your three gifts, a recipe packet to whip up more at home if you like, and the inability to drink dive bar mixed drinks without saying "I make this so much better at home."
All ages welcome

Alia Dalal is a health-promoting chef and culinary instructor, helping people learn about the food they eat. Her distaste of too-sugary cocktails led her to seek out good beverage programs and solid spirits and to take a more culinary approach to creating upscale cocktails in her kitchen. Chef Alia has worked in restaurant and spa kitchens in Chicago, New York City and India and teaches cooking classes at places like Whole Foods Markets and The Chopping Block. Last year, she was named a finalist to host WTTW's TV show Check, Please!
She was a great teacher, positive, funny and made the class a blast. Good drinks too!
