Event Overview

A 6-week class at RAM Art Studio where you will learn the basics of hand-built pottery (no wheel) and receive guidance on creating the types of pieces that interest you most. We will provide instruction including working with coils, slabs, pinching, and more, and then you will be able to practice these techniques along with experimenting with a variety of different glazes. Throughout the class series, you will be able to make a variety of pieces that can be used as decorative or functional items in your home or given as wonderful handmade gifts. Absolutely no experience is needed, and the tools and materials you need will be provided. Just bring your imagination!

Classes will be 2 hours long and will be on Thursday evenings. The schedule is as follows:

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Rebecca is the founder and co-owner of RAM Art Studio. She has been passionate about art for as long as she can remember, and translated that passion into an Art History and Studio Art degree from Mount Holyoke College. She then combined that knowledge and experience with her enthusiasm for helping others into a Master’s Degree in Education and a teaching certificate in art from Northwestern University.
Rebecca’s work in ceramics, glass, and photography has been on display in art fairs throughout the Chicagoland area, and she is now working to bring the positive effect art has had on her life to others in the community through RAM Art Studio.
In addition to being co-owner of the studio, Rebecca is also our lead instructor and program coordinator for all art classes and kids programs.
