Whiskey Tasting 201: American Styles
TOP RATED
Food & Drink
Bourbon. Rye. Tennessee. Moonshine. You know that in one form or another, whiskey is what real red-blooded American men drink. But you can't tell the difference between Jack, Jim, Jeremiah, Jefferson's and all those other J names with progressively fancier bottles and the vague implication that sipping them whilst swinging a walking stick will make you a gentleman.
In this class, another J-named fellow who isn't a brand of whiskey will illuminate the differences in the classic American styles, from the ingredients to the woods in the barrel, to the effects of prohibition and how that one old dude on American Bootleggers can proof whiskey just by looking at it. This class will feature a tasting flight of bourbon, rye, Tennessee and white whiskeys, along with a full dinner of whiskey friendly foods and pitchers of upmarket mango whiskey sour who's recipe you will want to steal for your next summer barbeque.
Please do NOT drive to this class. We're very close to the blue line, or we'd be happy to call you a cab.
We highly recommend taking this class after the introductory Whiskey Tasting Like A Pro, but it is not required.
