What do you do with those t-shirts that you don't wear? Are they just taking up room in your dresser? Bring them to this class and give them a fun, new use! Join the upcycling revolution and learn to see the endless, creative uses for everyday objects.
During the class you will work with Hanh Pham, creative reuse enthusiast and founder of Pretty Dirty, on a project to transform your old t-shirts into items like grocery totes, stylish tank tops and more! The class will be a great opportunity for students to learn how to reuse items found in their everyday lives.
This is a class you don't want to miss!
The Green Exchange
Hanh Pham is an environmental artist whose work focuses on ways to engage the public to see the beauty and usefulness of what most call trash. At a young age, she was moved to take action around the mounting waste crisis in the world.
Hanh created a dress from 300+ granola bar wrappers that won eco fashion shows in Chicago and San Francisco. This was the seed that blossomed into Pretty Dirty, a performance series that catches people while they are attending a neighborhood festival and through light-hearted conversations inspire people to reduce and repurpose waste. Six Chicagoland neighborhoods have been graced by these playful, unexpected performances.
