Event Overview

Learn the basics of how to create a succulent or air plant (or combo!) terrarium and how to keep your plants happy and healthy from master gardener Leelee Dameron. Then pick from a variety of materials, glassware, succulents, air plants, and crystals to create your own garden under glass.

Try something different and create a beautiful addition to your home! If you want your terrarium to have a theme, intention, or just something sparkly, we will have a selection of rough gemstones on hand, along with their meanings, for you to choose from. With step-by-step instructions, you will create a stunning terrarium to inspire you every day.

Feel free to BYOB.

Our pop-up workshops take place throughout Chicago. This event will take place within Leelee's home and studio. Get ready to head into a cozy indoor jungle for an afternoon of plants and meeting fellow dabblers.

Leelee is passionate about inspiring others to connect to nature, grow gardens, and create beautiful crafts from plants and flowers. She is an active Master Gardener and volunteers at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Leelee owns Leelee’s Garden, a garden and floral design/education company. Although she is just getting started on Dabble, Leelee has hosted design workshops and designed gardens throughout Chicagoland. Her favorite part of the process is seeing how proud people are of what they can create with their hands with a little help and inspiration.

My friend Katy and I picked this class on a whim because we like crafts and it sounded different, hands-on, and cost-effective. We took a two hour workshop on a Monday in the backroom of an Old Town bar with about 12 other folks. We spent about 30 minutes learning about air plants and the materials, and then about an hour planning and assembling our terrariums. There were tons of materials to choose from and we were thrilled with the outcome.
