Event Overview

Second City wants to help you get your funny on with this workshop that teaches you the basics of popular stand-up style Observational Comedy. We'll learn a little bit about the structure and vocab behind stand-up, discuss some tips and tricks for creating material and have an opportunity to share our funny in groups.

Dabblers who enjoy public-speaking, comedy, and storytelling will have a grand old time, and the brave-hearted among us will even get the chance to share their routines at the end of the workshop with an optional open mic!! If you don't want to share, you can just hang out on the sidelines and laugh at the antics of your classmates ... "not that there's anything wrong with that."

(You do not have to perform alone in class or take part in the 9 pm open mic, if you do not want to. There will be a couple of improv exercises that the whole group must take part in, however)
