Event Overview

Through guided hands-on projects, students will learn the fundamentals of jewelry making with an emphasis in silversmithing. Get to know the studio and become more familiar with the tools and equipment as you explore skills such as sawing, filing, soldering, piercing, polishing, & setting round cabochon stones. With technical instruction and your creativity, you will complete smaller practice projects and end with one final silver ring project that combines all the techniques learned. This is a great class for anyone that’s gotten a taste of jewelry making and wants to take it a step further or for complete newbies who are ready to commit and learn a new craft. Students receive free open studio time during the duration of their class along with 3 practice passes to use after the class ends. This class is limited to 5 students to ensure every student receives adequate attention. Tools and most materials will be supplied. No previous experience required, beginners welcome.

MORE ABOUT YOUR HOST

Tina Cannon

Top rated icon TOP RATED

Tina has worked in the fine jewelry industry since 2010 and has been designing for her own line since 2013. In efforts to find her niche between the two worlds, she began noticing a big gap between her fine jewelry day job and the independent world she moonlighted in during the nights. The knowledge and resources available seemed unapproachable or even unknown to the 'small-time' folks and she felt a need to bridge this gap. In addition, she often worked alone in her studio and craved for a community to share and cry with about the triumphs and failures experienced with running your own business. For these reasons, a few failed spaces, and hundreds of long days later, she created Tytin Jewelry's studio and shop.
