Public relations is one of the core tactics used to enhance a brand's visibility and establish a strategic position in the marketplace. Whether you're an artist, a non-profit, or a business, learning how to leverage the power of the media is an essential tool to success.
This class is targeted to individuals, organizations, and businesses interested in learning the basics of public relations. We will dispel the mysticism that surrounds this marketing tool, empower you with the recipe for a standard PR campaign, and even provide you with customized advice during our roundtable discussion. The class is a precursor to future PR classes that will delve deeper into executing specific PR tactics.
Be confident in the following four areas when you leave:
1) How PR can be used to achieve tangible objectives
2) The makeup of a typical PR plan look, from strategy to development to distribution
3) The difference between a press release and a pitch, and when you should use one over the other
4) What you should definitely do (and definitely not do) when communicating with the media
