About This Workshop
The digital landscape is moving at lightning speed. Every industry has been affected by the advances in digital—from retail to brands and agencies. Has your manager recently assigned a digital marketing role to you? Are you a project or account manager at a creative agency? Do you work for a small company or a start-up, and handle all things digital on your own? Then this bootcamp may be just what you need! Specifically created for students and professionals interested in gaining a deeper understanding of everything digital marketing can encompass.
This activity-driven class will equip you with tips and strategies on how to devise your brand and marketing strategy, what digital channels are available to you and how to use them, and how to track and analyze all of your marketing efforts with data-driven decisions.
Takeaways
Learn how to create a basic brand/marketing strategy
List and execute at least 5 key best practices on content marketing
Identify and describe at least 3 marketing techniques for each channel
Walk away with examples of KPIs and metrics to track
You will also leave with answers to the following questions:
- What are the main channels driving traffic to your site?
- What is the % of clicks each channel drives (over the past 12 months)?
- What are the sites (within referrer traffic) driving traffic to your site?
Prereqs & Preparation
Laptop or at the very least a notepad and pen
Project/company that you want to focus on during the exercises portion
If possible, we walk through your Google Business Profiles to show you how to optimize you presence in Google Local results
Please bring a laptop to class if you have one. If possible, Google Analytics should already be installed on your website. You will have the opportunity to practice what you learn throughout the class. If your website does not have Google Analytics installed, you will be able to partner with someone else in the class.

About the Instructor
Matt Cardoni Digital Marketing Educator and Consultant Matt Cardoni has over 18 years’ experience in technical and marketing roles. In the past 10 years he has specialized in helping mission driven organizations with their digital marketing; Patagonia, Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum (current) and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum are a few example clients. He’s taught digital marketing at the University of Iowa’s MBA Marketing Academy the past four years and is experienced in agency and client-side consulting. He currently runs his company Green Lightning Marketing that teaches & consults in digital marketing, including SEO, PPC, web analytics & social media marketing. He integrates FUN into his teaching style to keep people engaged.
