Event Overview

Join us at Swoon Living in our expansive Logan Square studio as we show you step by step how to make a beautiful city skyline candle. In this class, we will go over wax preparation and pouring, customizing wooden decals on the laser cutter, and creation of our unique crackling wood wicks. Choose from over 10 city skylines including, of course, the iconic Chicago lakefront. At the end of this experience, you will have a delicious smelling candle to take home or give as a unique, handmade gift!

Please Note: Due to the time required for candle wax to dry and cure, the candles made in class may not be able to travel. In exchange, professionally-made candles by the Swoon Living staff will be available to take home.

Dabble me this, Dabble me that what can be learned from Paddy Fitz Pat? All sorts of neat little crafty tid bits will be shared. With the power of the plastic cards many cool and unique pieces of equipment have been purchased and now all we need is an audience to teach. So leave the kids at home, put on your safety goggles and let's get messy. If you don't get any on you then you're just not having any fun.
(Always keep hair tied back and no loose fitting clothes or open toed shoes.)

The set up for the class was very accessible and easy to do; we got to participate in the full process from start to finish and see examples of finished products -- the skylines come pre-cut, and assembly of the candle is really easy; it was nice to walk away with a high quality finished product.

This class was so much fun! Kelsie explained every step of the process and taught us a lot about wood cutting/candle making/generally about the studio. It was really chill, and the candles are gorgeous and we will be keeping them forever.

Bought 2 tickets for my nieces Christmas presents. 2 hour class was only 30 minutes, and they didn't get to take home the actual candles they made, they took previously made candles home instead. Both nieces said they had a blast regardless.

I went with a few of my girlfriends to this class and we had a great time. Our instructor was awesome and we learned a lot and had fun while making the candles. We would definitely recommend this class for anyone who wants to do something out of the ordinary for a fun activity!

Looove the finished product! A quality soy candle that smells AMAZING, with a crackling wood wick wrapped in a skyline decal, plus a cork lid that can be used as a coaster. Patrick and Shaun were very welcoming hosts. I would have liked to have gotten a little more hands on with the laser cutter if possible, though.
