Event Overview

Hey Fun People! Hey Fun People! SPECIAL GUEST MODEL FOR THIS CLASS- get excited! Not only will we find "naughty bits" around the museum to draw, but we will have a real human (clothed) model to pose and draw from in various locations within the museum. April Special!

Always wanted to learn how to draw fun human bits, but felt too silly to ask? As a kid, did you ever point to a nude art piece in a museum and go "look, Mom, she's naked!" only to be shushed? Have you taken a figure drawing class, and learned to draw all the anatomy except the naughty bits? Are you a professional artist who just can't draw a breast to save your life? Well, this class is for you. Learn the basics of observational drawing and sketch classical sculptures at the Art Institute of Chicago: the naughty bits, in particular :-) Just for LOLs! (Actually, my instruction will help you learn to sketch whatever you want, not just nude human forms!)

We will explore figurative art at the Art Institute of Chicago, sketchbooks and pencils in hand, while capturing the play of light and shadow on the curves, bulges, arabesques, and blobs of light falling on forms- including those forms we are normally encouraged to overlook- Naughty bits! Also, while this may seem irreverent, I promise you will gain a new appreciation (and affectionate respect) for the Art Institute, art, sculpture, drawing, and ...naughty bits! Yay.

As you may imagine, this is totally tongue-in-cheek, and slightly risqué- though also a truly informative and fun adventure. Mature (-ish) people are encouraged to join the fun. Bring your all-season Valentine, your chubby hubby, your sweet sassy mo-lassie, your saucy posse, your best betch, or just your awesome self. Make a [naughty] picture you'll be happy to show off, and get inspired to draw more!

1 8"x10" mat and glycine sleeve will be provided per student, so your art will be ready to hang! (additional mats/sleeves available for purchase)

Great Thursday night out with the girls. Laura was really fun and attentive, gave great instruction, especially on shading techniques (which I really needed!) We got to see a fair bit of art and the pace of the class was perfect. Would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking for a cheeky night out - pun definitely intended there.

This was the perfect snowy day in Chicago with friends. Brunch across the street at Acanto with half off bottles of wine. Then over to the Art Museum for a fun afternoon of drawing and art. Laura, is super talented, interesting, and a great Teacher. Very good instruction and help. Stay after and enjoy the museum for the rest of your day!

I had so much fun, definitely want to come back for part two. I've been drawing nothing but butts since our class!
