This workshop will examine the basics of a well organized closet. Principles of organization, clothing storage, storage facilities and equipment will be discussed. The principles of what to wear, discard, or alter will be used to achieve the goal of organized clothing storage.
Active learning objectives:
*Examine your closet from a fashion personality point of view
*Sort clothing in your closet from the three-part closet evaluation perspective
*Identify a favorite clothing charity or institution to which you can give away discarded clothing items
*Prepare clothing items in need of alterations to take to a tailor, and know how to find and what to ask of a tailor that suits your needs
*Select and analyze items you will wear and place them back in the closet in an orderly fashion (e.g., light to dark, left to right item classifications)
*List ideal closet hardware and extras needed to complete your ideal closet exercise
You will walk away with the education necessary to organize your closet and everyone else's closet also!

Image Consultant and Fashion Stylist Nancy Plummer, brings over twenty years experience in the retailing industry to each client. Her consulting firm, Fine Threads, Inc., has assisted individuals express their personality through their clothing by offering one-on-one fashion analysis, closet consultations,
and personal shopping.
Nancy’s wide and varied retail career positions began after her graduation from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelor of Science in Retailing. Her previous positions have included Buyer, Store Manager, Manufacturers Rep, Account Executive, and Program Chair for the Fashion Design Department at The International Academy of Design & Technology (IADT) in Chicago, IL. Currently, Nancy is an Adjunct Faculty member at The Illinois Institute of Art Chicago in the Fashion Design Department.
Nancy also teaches a series of Image Consulting classes in the Continuum Department at Loyola University. Nancy completed her Masters’ degree in Training and Development in December 2006 from Roosevelt University. Nancy’s first book Your Personal Style was released in February 2009 from Fairchild Publications.
