Event Overview

Gnocchi can be made from semolina flour, breadcrumbs, ricotta, wheat flour, egg, potato, sweet potato and any combination thereof, as long as the form recalls a knot or knuckle as the name commands.


In this two hour class, you will learn how to make a simple potato gnocchi by hand, and how to make a tomato sauce. Students will get to bring home the gnocchi they make , so remember to bring a to-go container. This class is BYOB, but I've got you covered on openers and glasses!

Feel free to BYOB! To- go containers for left overs!

Chicago native Chef Sam considers herself a professional eater. Her career as a sushi chef started 6 years ago and in that short time she has had the opportunity to work under the best sushi chefs in the city, including working at a prominent sushi restaurant located in Downtown Chicago. She also spent 4 years as a private chef, where she gains skills in teaching and food education.

    Chef Samantha was an awesome teacher and super friendly! The bf and I really enjoyed her class and she was very personable and gave us one on one attention and tips. The class itself consisted of about 14 people and it was nice chatting with our classmates as well, everyone seemed to have a great time. The BYOB aspect was great and she provided us with cups and a bottle opener. We made a ton of pasta so make sure you bring a container with you.

    I really enjoyed this class and had a very pleasant first dabble experience! Samantha was very sweet and a helped us learn how to make gnocchi - which ended up being very delicious and a great dinner. It was my first time making pasta and Samantha was very helpful and attentive. The class was located at a basement studio apt space that used for classes - it was nice and clean and Samantha created a nice ambiance with music and lighting ( maybe suggest turning the heat down a bit as it was a little hot in the beginning). It's a great couples or small group activity- even though i went with a friend and we had a great time! Definitely learned something useful that I can take back with me and impress my friends with a gnocchi dinner!

    This class was so great! Chef Samantha was a fabulous and fun instructor, and the vibe of the class was laid back and enjoyable. I feel confident in my ability to make gnocchi and impress with the results! I'd highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning basic yet impressive pasta-making skills and having lots of fun while doing it.

    Sam was a great teacher and was very hands on in teaching us. She kept the class engaged all throughout, and we had fun with her and the other couple taking her class. It was a great date night activity.

    We had a wonderful time making gnocchi with Chef Samantha! When we arrived, we weren't sure what to expect - but we were delighted to see that all of our supplies were ready. The beer and wine flowed freely! The class had a blast getting to know one another and learning how to make those delicious explosions of yumminess. I enjoyed hearing about Chef Samantha's commitment to using local foods and it was really cool to know we were using locally sourced ingredients. Come hungry because you get to eat what you make (or save it for later if you want).
