Event Overview

Lets get creative! In the second part of the Watercolor Basics class we start with a presentation of contemporary abstract artists and learn about their methods of creation. You will then be introduced to the masking technique, explore abstract painting strategies, and create one unique abstract painting to take home. Come with your imagination and open mind!

Boris Ostrerov

Boris Ostrerov earned an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. While in school, he learned to paint and draw both representationally and abstractly with various mediums. In the last three years he has taught art classes to beginners. He creates a comfortable environment and uses his ability to clearly and enthusiastically articulate and demonstrate approaches and techniques to painting and drawing. He believes art is a rewarding hobby and that everyone has the potential to improve their artistic skills and exercise their creativity through visual art.

Ostrerov has exhibited his work in Chicago and New York including showing at Paris London Hong Kong (PLHK), Lubov, Tory Folliard, and the Portrait Society in Milwaukee. He has been featured in several publications including New American Paintings #119.

Went to the first class and learned a good deal of techniques, second class opened my eyes to new and creative ideas with additional mediums to add to the mix.
