Have you ever wanted to learn how to paint with watercolors but are overwhelmed with where to start? No art skills? No worries! This class is perfect for the complete beginner; an introductory class with all quality materials included! At a comfortable pace, you will be introduced to different watercolor painting materials, understand what watercolors are made of, learn how to mix colors, practice a few painting techniques, and create one simple painting! By pursuing watercolor painting, you will learn how pleasurable and relaxing this medium is and you will develop a way to exercise creativity.


Come along with us and discover the joy of watercolor painting!

Boris Ostrerov earned an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2013. While in school, he learned to paint and draw both representationally and abstractly with various mediums. In the last three years he has taught art classes to beginners. He creates a comfortable environment and uses his ability to clearly and enthusiastically articulate and demonstrate approaches and techniques to painting and drawing. He believes art is a rewarding hobby and that everyone has the potential to improve their artistic skills and exercise their creativity through visual art.

Ostrerov has exhibited his work in Chicago and New York including showing at Paris London Hong Kong (PLHK), Lubov, Tory Folliard, and the Portrait Society in Milwaukee. He has been featured in several publications including New American Paintings #119.

    This is a great class and Boris is a detailed and patient instructor. The materials provided were high quality and the instruction around watercolor basics were through and well explained. I would recommend this class to anyone who is looking to learn more about how to work with watercolors.

    I highly recommend this class for the watercolor neophyte. The class is well-structured and builds skills from an introduction of materials and tools to beginner painting technique--which when combined will result in a pretty seashore painting. Plenty of license is given for artistic expression, and the pace is generous but not sluggish. This is an excellent class for a small group of friends, but is also approachable for individuals like myself that attend solo. Well worth your money.

    Boris is very knowledgeable with water coloring. He held a comfortable, relaxed class and packed a lot of information into 3 hours. I walked away from the class feeling grateful for the various techniques I'd been shown.

    Fun, laid-back way to try out a new hobby! Boris was super organized and took us very carefully from beginners to first painting. He patiently answered all our questions and I never felt lost. I also loved his music selections!

    It was very fun to learn different techniques of water color painting only in three hours and to be able to paint something at the end of the class! Boris is a very good instructor, you don't need to have an art background to attend this class.

    Great class! Boris is definitely a subject matter expert on watercolors and really takes the time to explain details on the various techniques. The tempo was just perfect. I really enjoyed myself.
