Event Overview

Ever wonder if you could do something useful with a busted light bulb? Well we did...

Here's a novel Valentine's weekend activity & gift! When the lights, literally, go out, this Dabble class will show you how to turn discarded bulbs into adorable mini aquatic terrariums that you can use to decorate your home.

Get step by step instruction on how to: carefully break a light bulb, and how to pick out plants for your aquatic terrarium.

Students will be provided the opportunity to clean out light bulbs, pick from an assortment of colored rocks to decorate their terrariums, and will assemble their new centerpieces ... complete with a DIY cork stand made from repurposed wine bottle corks to hold your bulb upright.

Tina Weidenhammer launched her own business, B3 Terrariums: Books, Bottles, & Bulbs, a little over a year ago. B3T focuses on upcycling (repurposing) bottles, glass containers, light bulbs, and books into home plant accents. The goal of b3t is to facilitate people to change how they engage nature in their urban environments. They can do this by taking one time use objects and giving them a second purpose while bringing nature inside. Tina has been making and selling upcycled terrariums at art shows, online and through individual and business contracts over the last year.
