Book Terrariums: Growing Plants From Paper

Education
Does anyone have a giant fashion, art or interior design book sitting on your coffee table, never opened, collecting dust? An old book picked up at an antique store with a beautiful spine and cover but whose pages are falling from the binding and subsequently unreadable? Uh, yeah. Us either ... ;).
Join us for this Dabble class that's dedicated to putting those old books to use, by recycling them back to their days as a living plant.
The first part of class will be demo: showing you all the stages of what is normally a 3 day process from converting a book into a terrarium. Then we'll get interactive with it, as each participant has the opportunity to spend a few minutes practicing each stage: gluing, cutting and drilling into their book, water sealing their book, lining their cut out book ... and then the best part ... filling and planting their book terrarium!
At the end of the class, each participant will get to take home their own book terrarium.
All ages welcome

Tina Weidenhammer launched her own business, B3 Terrariums: Books, Bottles, & Bulbs, a little over a year ago. B3T focuses on upcycling (repurposing) bottles, glass containers, light bulbs, and books into home plant accents. The goal of b3t is to facilitate people to change how they engage nature in their urban environments. They can do this by taking one time use objects and giving them a second purpose while bringing nature inside. Tina has been making and selling upcycled terrariums at art shows, online and through individual and business contracts over the last year.
Made a beautiful terrarium for the house. And got to pet adorable pups. Teacher was a pleasure to work with and was very engaging

Tina was a great instructor and clearly very passionate about her work. The class moved along at just the right speed and I'm very happy with the final product.
