Event Overview

Terrariums are the darlings of the gardening scene.
Wine is the darling of the dinner scene.
Combine the two, and you've got yourself a proper party.

This Dabble class will show you the basics of re-purposing a liquor bottle into an adorable terrarium. We'll provide the bottle and all the supplies necessary, and show you how to add color and texture to your home without spending money or creating waste.

Learn the steps involved in potting the terrarium, including sourcing supplies and plants locally, strategically selecting greens, and other household items you can use as potters and accents. Make one for yourself this time, and go home knowing how to make one for everyone you know, as these low maintenance plants require little attention.

FYI--free street parking, and avoid wearing white b/c we are handling charcoal & soil :-)
There will be coffee & water available.

Tina Weidenhammer launched her own eco business, B3 Terrariums: Books, Bottles, & Bulbs back in 2011. B3t focused on upcycling (repurposing) bottles, glass containers, light bulbs, and books into home plant accents. The goal of b3t was to facilitate people to change how they engage nature in their urban environments. They can do this by taking one time use objects and giving them a second purpose while bringing nature inside. Since 2013 Tina has moved on to a new business as a lifestyles' consultant, but still enjoys making terrariums out of repurposed glass as a hobby.

Tina is an awesome teacher and put together a fun, hands-on, and informative class. I came by myself but was pleasantly surprised that all the attendees were social and interactive, all facilitated by Tina. She supplies all of the materials, including funky glassware and decorations. Everyone came out of class with a unique and functional terrarium and knowledge for how to create another in the future.

I liked that she had printed instructions ready for us to take and all the materials were well organized and quick to gather. She kept the class moving at a quick pace. I could tell she was passionate about the subject matter, she showed a lot of enthusiasm and worked to keep us engaged. It was a great 'taste' of a topic that was new to me, now I feel like I could do it again on my own!

I liked that she had printed instructions ready for us to take and all the materials were well organized and quick to gather. She kept the class moving at a quick pace. I could tell she was passionate about the subject matter, she showed a lot of enthusiasm and worked to keep us engaged. It was a great 'taste' of a topic that was new to me, now I feel like I could do it again on my own!
