Get ready to unwind, spark creativity, and connect with your team in this custom virtual drawing workshop led by acclaimed artist and instructor Laura Mae Noble. Whether you’re a confident doodler or someone who hasn’t drawn since school, this session is designed to be fun, accessible, and surprisingly inspiring.
In this interactive workshop, Laura will guide participants through a series of playful drawing exercises—ranging from simple sketching and shading techniques to creative prompts that tap into your imagination. The content will be customized upon confirmation for Google’s Solutions Engineering team and may include:
“Dream App Icons” — design original icons for imaginative future Google products
“Draw Your Superhero” — sketch a superhero version of yourself or your teammates
Mindful line drawing, doodling challenges, and other creative warm-ups
Foundational techniques including shading, texture, perspective, and composition
The session strikes the perfect balance between relaxation and collaboration, offering lighthearted creative exploration while giving team members a chance to share, laugh, and bond. No drawing experience required—just curiosity!
All ages welcome
We will ship a curated set of drawing supplies to all eight Google participants prior to the workshop, tailored to Laura’s final lesson plan. All you need to bring is a little imagination.

Laura Mae Noble is a teaching artist who works in a variety of media, including illustration, drawing and painting, and with plants and botanicals. She teaches fine art at her private studio, Studio LMN, in the historic Flatiron Arts Building. She co-founded Chicago CreaTable LLC, seeking to inspire creativity, ecology, and community through a variety of art, craft and creativity classes based at Studio LMN. She also has a private coaching business for promising art/design college hopefuls, and for portfolio and personal development- Noble Creative Coaching. She has been teaching illustration and figurative drawing as Faculty at SAIC since 2013. Anything else? Why, yes: she founded Noble Tarraria, a landscaping and terrarium design company, and Figure Ground Arts, her arts LLC that hosts, among other things, a desitination-based plein air painting retreat, Tributary Artists Symposium. Other affiliations include West Elm, and AirBnB. Private client event, art and design inquiries welcome. Originally from Vermont, she has been living in Chicago since 2010. She is also a proud Mom since September 2020. Life is good, and worth sharing through art!
