Event Overview

Faces Only is an opportunity to draw someone up-close without having to feel awkward. Artists take on a dual role, modeling even as they are drawing other artists. We chat, have food & drink, and practice our portrait skills with one another. Learn to capture the essence of a person with FACES ONLY.

We start by discussing our main topic. We look together at anatomy reference books, and we might sketch what we see. The topic for June 13 is all about faces and hands. After about fifteen minutes of sketching, we begin to draw one another. We can make as many or as few images as we want. We can work in any style, at any skill level.

The face and hands are two of the most expressive parts of the human body! Together, they can tell a story and reveal an emotional state. We will learn how they work together in a composition. And we will gain valuable practice time drawing two of the most intricate and challenging parts of the human anatomy.
