Arts & DIY
It takes time to get comfortable with a drawing medium. The prospect of learning how to work with a new material can be daunting. Wouldn't it be nice if someone else would do all the trial-and-error for you, and just show you what works?
That's where artist Dean Johnson comes in! He has spent years experimenting with pen & ink, figuring out what this medium does and does not do. In this workshop, Dean reveals his personal techniques to you.
You will see for yourself the difference between brush-inking and pen-inking. You will compare and contrast spot-shading versus cross-hatching. You will be able to try all of Dean’s methods, and he will be with you to guide you through the process.
At the end of this workshop, you will have created fantastic drawings to keep, and you will have gained the experience necessary to continue your exploration of pen & ink!

My experience at Dean's drawing technique class was pretty darn cool. I definitely recommend it to anybody who wants to improve their skills. I showed up with an open mind since I've never been much into drawing, but I surely was pleased by what I learned. I enjoyed the class a lot and I'm signing up for the next one. Dean was patient and pleasant as a teacher. The environment was relaxing and I never felt like I was being judged, considering I'm a beginner. I should also say that I now have a renewed interest in expressing my creativity. Thank you, Dean!
