Dice, slice, chop, chiffonade, and julienne! Recognize these knife cutting terms? I believe that competence as well as confidence in the kitchen begins with learning the proper techniques of knife handling. Meal preparation will be faster, easier, and more enjoyable.
This knife skills class will cover knife selection, proper knife handling, and learning knife common cuts.
This class is for experienced chefs as well as beginning cooks. We will develop a solid foundation of knife techniques in this hands-on class. Practice your new skills, prepare some delicious dishes with your perfectly chopped ingredients and go home with the “chef’s touch”.
We will use your new slicing and dicing techniques to prepare Southwestern Chopped Salad and Strawberry Galette(gluten Free option available).
Bring your favorite chefs knife and paring knife.
All ages welcome
All ingredients will be provided.

DeDee's food and cooking interests led her to earning a degree in Restaurant/Hotel Management from Purdue University. She developed her talents in numerous kitchens and then in the hospitality industry; working from line chef to Food and Wine Purchasing Manager. DeDee trained under a Certified Master Chef who helped define her organic food awareness.
DeDee desires to carry on the message of healthy living through nature’s abundant harvest. Food is meant to be natural - not processed, from the earth - not from a warehouse. She looks forward to sharing with you her passion for natural food cooking. Whether you’re a novice in the kitchen or an expert cook, she hopes to share time with you together in the kitchen just for the fun of it.

This was a very informative class! I learn so much about knives and so much more! I highly recommend this class for those that want to have a better understanding of proper cutting techiniques, cutting board options, and other knife techiniques. DeDee is a great teacher!

I learned so much! The knife techniques will take practice since o have to unlearn my current cutting practices. We not only learned cutting but learned so much about cooking in general. What a great experience!

This was a wonderful class, particularly for someone who has very limited knowledge of different cutting techniques and use of knives. I learned so much useful information! DeDee was wonderful and a true inspiration to those of us who are less than competent and comfortable in the kitchen.
