Event Overview

Badass HERstory is a massive global craftivism project meant to capture and share the stories of as many women, female-identified, and gender non-binary humans as possible. Workshops are led by the powerful Shannon Downey of Badass Cross-Stitch and include an introduction to Craftivism and the Badass HERstory project followed by a "how to embroider" section that non-stitchers can participate in - seasoned stitchers can just start stitching their pieces. Folks of all genders are welcome at all stitch-ups but the project itself is only open to women and gender non-binary

Awesome introduction to Craftivism. Shannon is an approachable teacher and generally a badass. You'll end up leaving feeling confident and eager to learn more about embroidery.

Loved this class - the sense of community was amazing and for someone who can barely thread a needle I definitely learned a lot. I'm excited to submit my final embroidery to the HerStory project!

What an inspiring night! I not only picked up skills in embroidery, but also grabbed a whole lot of confidence in myself. Shannon led a great class but also knew when to step back and let the community form. It was a lovely evening.
