Event Overview

The ultimate skill of a fashion designer is to make your own patterns to cut from. These patterns will give you the freedom to create any kind of garment you want. During this 2-day intensive, Angela Guinta will teach you the fundamentals of pattern drafting. You will learn about the tools used and create your own pattern blocks. No experience needed.


This class includes two days of learning: Saturday (10/6) + Sunday (10/7) 9 am to 12 pm.

With 10 years experience in corporate and small business apparel, fashion designer Anna Hovet is one of most recognized names in Chicago fashion. Anna earned her BFA from SAIC (where she now teaches). After graduating, she worked for a large corporate company, Kids Headquarters, where she designed layette for Ecko, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, and Target. In 2009 she founded Anna Hovet Designs, an athleisure fashion line manufactured in Chicago and sold around the world. Anna also teaches fashion illustration at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
