Ready to make your own clothing? You will learn how to read a commercial pattern, properly source and cut fabric, then sew your own garment. Students are welcome to select their own design and our instructor will be there to assist you throughout the process.
Class meets every Monday 7-9 PM from April 20th to May 18th
What to Bring
Students will need to provide their own commercial pattern and fabric (details will be messaged to students before class)
Minimum age
All ages welcome
Prerequisites
Beginner sewing experience is recommended. Students should know the basics of how to thread and use a home sewing machine (straight stitch).

We do have extra home sewing machines available.

With 10 years experience in corporate and small business apparel, fashion designer Anna Hovet is one of most recognized names in Chicago fashion. Anna earned her BFA from SAIC (where she now teaches). After graduating, she worked for a large corporate company, Kids Headquarters, where she designed layette for Ecko, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, and Target. In 2009 she founded Anna Hovet Designs, an athleisure fashion line manufactured in Chicago and sold around the world. Anna also teaches fashion illustration at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
