Event Overview

In this class we will explore different techniques and materials for Shibori Dyeing. Shibori is the ancient traditional Japanese resist dyeing technique used traditionally with Indigo dye. We will use silk swatches and cotton swatches and a few different color dyes. Please wear clothes that can be stained, dyeing is messy.

Hovet Fashion Studio

With 10 years experience in corporate and small business apparel, fashion designer Anna Hovet is one of most recognized names in Chicago fashion. Anna earned her BFA from SAIC (where she now teaches). After graduating, she worked for a large corporate company, Kids Headquarters, where she designed layette for Ecko, Calvin Klein, Kenneth Cole, and Target. In 2009 she founded Anna Hovet Designs, an athleisure fashion line manufactured in Chicago and sold around the world. Anna also teaches fashion illustration at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
