'Member camp? Where you learned, participated, and stretched yourself amongst an invigorating blend of familiar and new faces? Where you were led by welcoming, low-key counselors in a welcoming, low-key environment?

"I Can't: Ask for Money" is part of Mac & Cheese Productions' I Can't series, where adults state they're unable to do something, they try it with a bunch of other adults who also "can't," and everyone proves themselves wrong and not only does the thing, but enjoys it and says, "That wasn't so bad. In fact, kinda fun. Good for me! What's next?!" As at camp, topics and structure are varied but the "be yourself amongst others being themselves, witness the magic that happens when you try with others trying" vibe is pervasive.

For this edition, Mac & Cheese is partnering with money-asking gurus Elyse Brendlen and Katie Carrico, to give you insight into both personal and professional money asks.

Have you ever wanted to raise money for yourself, a loved one, or an important cause, but you were afraid to because:

• You feel awkward asking people for money


• You don’t think anyone will care enough to donate


• You’re embarrassed


• It sounds like too much work for an uncertain reward


• You don’t want to bother anybody


• You (or your loved one) are too proud to ask for help

We’ll cover the basics of personal fundraising, including recommended fundraising platforms, creating a great “ask,” leveraging personal relationships, overcoming awkwardness, and maintaining momentum.

Do you have a business or side-hustle and despise the "selling" aspect? We'll dive into topics such as --

• Just ask for money already!


• How to find the right wording in your pitches


• How to bring your value to the table


• How to say no (and mean it) when others won't pay


• How to deal with in-kind trades: everyone's least favorite...favorite

Personally or professionally, if asking for money stresses you out, you belong here. Feel free to byo-drinks & snacks and enjoy during the workshop.
