Event Overview

"I can't _______."

"Yes you can."

"But..."

(hand up) "Nope. You can."

I Can't: Yoga is part of Mac & Cheese Productions' I Can't series, where adults state they're unable to do something, they try it with a bunch of other adults who also "can't," and everyone proves themselves wrong and not only does the thing, but enjoys it and says, "That wasn't so bad. In fact, kinda fun. Good for me! What's next?!"

Have you never done yoga because:

  • you don't want to look foolish

  • you're chunky*

  • you don't think it's a workout

  • you're not flexible

  • you don't have upper body - core - lower body - any strength

  • you don't have any lululemon clothes

  • you have no idea what chatarunga is

  • you're not a yogi

  • you've never done yoga

I Can't: Yoga is for you.

If you've been curious. If you think it'll be too easy. If you think it'll be too hard. If you want to try something new. If you've heard of yoga's benefits like deeper sleep, a calm mind, better posture, minimized chronic pain, and increased strength, and you'd like that for yourself. If you want to be in an environment where you can't do anything wrong and everyone's "I'll try it..." attitude is infectious. If you're tired of giving a sh*t what other people think (spoiler: NO ONE is looking at or thinking about you -- we're all narcissistic beings, wrapped up in our ownness).

If you're looking to meet new people in a non-network'y, non-Barleycorn type of way. If you like reflective discussion. If you like weaving of individual work and group work that results in lightbulb moments and "these are my people" sentiments. If gel pens and gluesticks are your jam. If you're here and you'd rather be there but something is keeping you here and not there.

*Co-Facilitator Saya is chunky too and she loves Bradshaw's yoga. If she can do it, you can do it.

The Richard Simmons of Yoga + Accessbile Oprah = a delightful, inspiring, feel good experience

FAQs

  • What if I've done yoga before? Cool, cool. Feel free to come if this event speaks to you. Just recognize that the class will be geared towards beginners/first-timers.

  • Can I come just for the yoga or the workshop? It's all or nothing, sister.

  • What if there's a pose I really can't do? You'll be just like Saya, taking a child's pose/sitting back on your knees, which is absolutely fine. Push yourself when you're feeling it, pull back when you're not.
