This was a good intro to pasta class. The teacher broke down the recipe and technique into easy to remember steps. I wasn't the biggest fan of some of the more "avant garde" pastas we tried, but I feel like I know enough to make more classic versions on my own.

I attended with my girlfriend and we both had a great experience. The instructor was knowledgeable and there was a good ratio of laid back demonstration and hands-on opportunities for everyone. Also, the food was very good. I highly recommend attending!

I am a big fan of Philipe and notice his strong presence in the Chicago food scene. He has an impressive resume and social media following. When I saw that he taught classes, I immediately jumped at the opportunity and invited 8 of my girlfriends to come. Pasta 101 was a fun, engaging class that left us excited and enthusiastic to apply our newly learned pasta making skills at home. We wish we couldve eaten the samples endlessly as the food was unique and delicious! Philippe's approach to cooking is passionate, thoughtful and easy to follow and apply. I highly recommend this course and Chef P for all types of cuisines and crowds. Will be back with him again!!

Chef Phillipe was amazing during the class. I took my employees for Christmas party and we all had a such great time. The presentation was perfect, food delicious, and Chef was entertaining. And since then I can't cook dry pasta anymore.
I will definitely recommend for a group parties.

The Pasta 101 class was in a kitchen/classroom at the Whole Foods on Kingsbury. It was a nice environment and allowed wine-- we were also provided with paper and pens for notes. Phillipe taught us how to make three pasta dishes using everyday ingredients: one fettuccine pasta with tomatoes and lemon, another fettuccine pasta with pesto, and another ravioli pasta with chocolate and ricotta. The dishes was delicious, but I came in with the expectation that it would be a lot more hands on and that we'd be eating a lot more pasta. Phillipe allowed us to come up and roll out the dough as well as cut the dough, but that was about it. The portions we were served were also very small (tasting portions). I would've preferred more hands on experience, larger portions, and would recommend that they get a projector screen or reflecting mirror so that guests can see what's happening from our seats. It was very hard so see Phillipe and his assistant cooking unless we stood around the stove or he held something up. Other than those things, the class was a nice time-- fun environment overall.

I had a great experience at Pasta 101 with Phillipe. The class covered the basics of making traditional pasta as well as variations incorporating spinach, squid ink and beet root. He also demonstrated a simple but delicious tomato sauce as well as a surprising twist on classical pesto sauce. My favorite part was learning how to make ricotta. Had no idea it was so easy! I definitely recommend this class for anyone looking for a fun introduction to pasta making.

We booked this class for our staff holiday party, and it could not have been a bigger success. Something that can be difficult to achieve with a wide range of people.
The class was the perfect mix of demonstration and hands-on. Chef Phillipe is knowledgeable, approachable and entertaining. He expertly fielded all the questions we threw at him, and most importantly the food was AMAZING!!! I think everyone in the office has added a pasta roller to their holiday wish lists!
We will definitely be contacting him for our next staff gathering to teach us more!

I loved this classs. Can’t say enough about the instructor, Phillip Sobon and his assistant at Whole Foods. We made 2 different kinds of pasta, some French style gnocchi and fresh ricotta. The food was delicious. The teaching and hands on experience was priceless. I was able to roll out dough w/ the pasta machine w/ a little help and get a feel for the process, ask questions. I would take this class again. I learned so much. Phillip was great. Food teacher, personable, funny and down-to-earth. Look forward to more classes from Phillip.

Chef Phillipe did an awesome job getting all of the students engaged and excited about making pasta. He has a captvating personality and the jokes he weaves theoughout hos presentation are hilarious. Even though this is a demonstration course, it sure didn't feel like one. Anyone could volunteer to come up and help roll out and cut pasta, which makes a huge difference when you're home later trying to DIY. This is my first time taking a class with Dabble and it was a great one, excited to take more classes with Chef Phillipe and keep Dabbling!

This was a great class! He made pasta making from scratch seem like something anyone can do. There are opportunities to participate and try everything. The teacher is also really cool about answering questions while he is teaching about cooking & his experiences on cooking shows/competitions.

This class was great! We learned how to make gnocchi, spaghetti and fettuccine (in different flavors) along with different sauces and how you can really use many different things in your own pantry to substitute for the item you would ideally want....and it tastes great. We even learned how to make cheese! And since it's at Whole Foods, you can always buy a glass of wine or beer downstairs and bring it to class with you to sip on.
