Event Overview

Summer is in full swing and what better way to celebrate then by having a Gelato party!! Join Phillipe Sobon, a self-taught chef living in Chicago, to learn how to make different gelatos such as strawberry basil with balsamic, mocha amaretto or a mint julep. You'll be able to taste all of the delicious creations that are freshly made. We will end the night off traditionally with affogato and cannoli, as they do in Italia. You will not only feel inspired to make gelato at home but will come away with different recipes and techniques, Did I mention it's BYOB?!

Phillipe has been a finalist on Masterchef Season 5, a contestant on Food Network's Cooks vs. Cons Season 2, appeared on LIVE with Kelly & Ryan, USA Today, WGN, a finalist for World Food Championships 2017, HMS Host 2017 finalist and has worked with Fabio Viviani and Graham Elliot. Has also cooked for Scott Conant, Geoffrey Zakarian, and Lorena Garcia. As a bonus, Phillipe will be offering 50% off his private dinners and catering packages. BYOB!

    This class was super nice! Its not hands on but they give you a lot of simple instructions for you to recreate the gelato at home. We ate 3 different kinds of gelato and I also ate something I have never had before which was a cannoli! It was baked and not fried and pretty good. Definitely bring alcohol with you!

    This was my first time participating in a group cooking class. Phil was a great teacher. I really enjoyed his enthusiasm and passion for cooking. I had no idea gelato was so easy to make. I definitely recommend this class to anyone that enjoys cooking or just wants a fun, entertaining night out.

    I attended this class on August 8 and it was so much fun and informative! Bonus, the class wasn't only about gelato! I've already used a lot of the info at home.

    Phil was a knowledgable and entertaining instructor who shared his passions with the class. I would label this class more of a cooking demonstration than a hands-on class as we mostly observed Phil's techniques and tasted the finished recipes. I enjoyed that Phil showed how easy it is to make high quality gelato, riccota, cannoli's etc with just a few ingredients and a few steps.
